Hi, I'm Kirsten! You've reached my blog and website, Video Games as Literature!
Video Games as Literature is an academic blog written by Kirsten Rodning, M.A. English Literature. I started this blog during graduate school in 2012, when I was told by a well-respected professor that video games wouldn't make a very good topic for my Master's Thesis. Since then the video game studies genre of literary analysis has taken off and in my PhD program (as yet uncompleted) I was able to incorporate more video game studies into my school work. Over the years my blog has evolved to include literary analyses of books and occasionally film, as well as more informal updates and fun posts, such as favorites lists. The primary focus of the blog has, however, continued to be ensuring that video games are included in discussions of literature.
